dc.description.abstract The BSc. BMS is a program that aims at meeting the science research needs of our society as stipulated in the 'Millennium Development Goals' and the Kenyan 'Vision 2030'. The program is designed towards developing scientists who are competent and equipped with relevant current knowledge, right attitudes and technical skills that wiJl enable them to carry out quality medical research under minimum supervision in modem laboratories and research institutions. The rapidly changing biomedical procedures and techniques which graduates require in the area of expertise were considered while developing the program. To this end, the proposed content is current and the courses included will equip a student with multidiscip1inary approach to modem medical research. The ultimate goal is to encourage young Kenyans to develop interest in biomedical research at an early stage. The proposed program will provide a wide base from which they can specialize. This will enable them to participate in the development of commercial medical products, qualifying for post-graduate studies. Highly qualified researchers tend to attract funding for their research projects. By integrating Christian faith in teaching and learning, Daystar University seeks to train biomedical scientists who will be individuals of high moral standards who can work in varied biomedical professional bodies. en_US
