| dc.description.abstract | Laikipia University College was a constituent College of Egerton University. It is located 50 km from Nakuru, on the Nakuru-Nyahururu Highway and 11 km from Nyahururu town. The University College was initially established as a Campus of Egerton University in 1990 following the recommendations of a Government Committee appointed to look into modalities of absorbing a double intake of students from secondary schools. In 2009 Laikipia was established as a constituent College through Legal Order no 157 of 23rd October 2009. The Commission inspected Laikipia College in November 2012 and was satisfied that the institution met the minimum requirements and recommended that College be awarded a Charter to become Laikipia University. | en_US |
